International Yoga Day Celebrated in Doaba College

Doaba College Jalandhar, in association with The Art of Living, celebrated International Yoga Day based on this year’s National theme “Yoga for Self and Society”. 

International Yoga Day Celebrated in Doaba College

Jalandhar, June 21, 2024: Doaba College Jalandhar, in association with The Art of Living, celebrated International Yoga Day based on this year’s National theme “Yoga for Self and Society”. 

Dhruv Mittal- treasurer, Doaba College Managing Committee graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while  Sat Pal Gupta, member, Doaba College Managing Committee, Arun Mittal, Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Dr. Piyush Sood (National Eye Hospital), Dr. Manjula Snghal (M.M Hospital) Dr. Manju (Doaba Dental Hospital), Dr, Saurav Aggarwal (Sh. Devi Talab Charitable Hospital), Vijay Kumar and Pritpal Singh  (Art of Living) and Rohit Sharma (Hawk Riders), were the guests of honour. 

The dignitaries were honoured with tokens of respect and love by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Dhruv Mittal and the Coordinators. The guests were then vouchsafed a hearty welcome by Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Dr. Ominder Johal, Prof Sukhvinder Singh, Dr. Suresh Mago - Coordinators, faculty members and around 300 students and citizens of Jalandhar.

The event began with Rajesh Premi’s blissful bhajan. Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari talked about the importance of Yoga. He emphasized to excel in all the avenues of life and mere providing the education should not be the case, he further added. 

The Art of Living teachers Vijay Kumar performed Yogaasanas, namely Bhujangasana, Naukasana, Tadasana, Surya Namaskaar, Paadasana, nadi shodhan exercises and meditation along with the audience. 

Rohit Sharma and Vikram assisted Sh. Vijay Kumar during yogaasana session. The NCC, NSS, Health and Well Being Committee, Student Council and Sports Students of the college participated enthusiastically in the program. 

Prof. Shivika Dutta conducted the stage. 

The event culminated with a vote of thanks from Dr. Suresh Mago.
