Show starting from 15th July, Mon-Fri 8:00 PM only on Sony Entertainment Television

Q1.You are back on SET after your stint in the popular show Beyhadh. How does it feel to be back?

Swati Shah (SS): Coming back to Sony Entertainment Television is like coming back home. This is my third show with the channel, and it has always been a splendid time where the kind of roles I have played have been fulfilling as an artist. I always believe that the storyline and concept of the shows on Sony are very different and unique. Shows like Patiala Babes, Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai are very different from the ongoing shows and now, with Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein which is a very different concept is sure to make a place in the viewers hearts. It is always a great experience to get back and work on shows with Sony and a pleasure to be back on Television screens with new and interesting shows like Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein.

Q2. You are going to play the character of a mother to a hearing and speech impaired boy. Do you want to share some insights on it?

SS: When the makers of Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein narrated the character of Kusum, it didn’t take any time for me to take a decision and immediately agreed to play the role. When you are offered challenging roles, it gives an artist another kind of happiness to take them head on and bring them alive on screen. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to expand my horizons and explore different characters. Though it’s quite difficult when you have a child who is hearing impaired, the family has another kind of journey with the child. The writers have worked on the script in a very beautiful way and I am sure that the audiences will enjoy the journey of Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein with us. Every mother loves her kid irrespective of their flaws. Kusum also loves Yogi with all her heart. For her, Yogi is an absolutely normal kid just as others. There a lot of little quarrels between Yogi and his father, which Kusum has to be a part of to resolve and things that happen on a day to day basis are just the same. Yogi is a character that absolutely loves life and takes whatever life throws on him with ultimate enthusiasm. There is nothing that stops him from enjoying each moment of his life. He is the most notorious kid of the house and everyone in the family is always looking out for the pranks that he keeps on playing on them. From the character of Kusum, I personally am learning a lot. Working with a character that is hearing impaired is a different kind of challenge and it is definitely teaching me patience and helping me understand how we can convey so much without saying much.

Q3. How different is Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein going to be from the characters you have played already?

SS: God has been very kind to me. In 20 to 22 years of my acting career on television, I have got the chance to play and essay various characters. I have been lucky to play wide-ranging characters and have such shades where I have been able to showcase my acting skills to the best of my capabilities. I will be very thankful to almighty to give the best of opportunities and it’s just my faith and luck that I am at the right place at the right time. Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein is a show that will bring smile to the faces of our audience. A show about the love story of a boy who is hearing impaired and yet there is nothing putting him down. Also, the light yet on-spot comic timings of the characters and the undying enthusiasm of Yogi towards life is what is going to keep the audience glued to their television screens every night. I cannot wait for our audience to start watching our show because I am sure that they are going to love it. Every character in the show is relatable.

Q4. The premises are based out of Delhi and you are a Gujarati. What are the preparations you are doing to get the character right?

SS: Yes, I have been fortunate enough for doing various types of shows and all the shows I did in the past made me learn a lot of things. I am hoping the same this time as well with my character Kusum. When I was told that the premise of the show is set-up in Delhi, I was excited. The style of having a day-to-day conversation in a typical Delhi household is different from that of a Mumbai household. So, to do justice to my character and make it more authentic, I started watching videos and interacting more with my friends from Delhi to get a hold of the style of talking. I have tried my best and hope that the audience will accept me in my new character.

Q5. Famous actor Kiran Karmakar is going to be seen opposite you? Are you working with him for the first time? How has your experience been so far?

SS: When I was told that Kiran Karmarkar is going to play the role of my husband, I was very happy. He is a well-known actor in the industry and a great human. I have watched his shows and enjoy his acting. This is my first project with Kiran Ji and I am eagerly looking forward to working with him. I feel lucky to get the chance of working with such seasoned and veteran actors like Kiran Ji, Sulbha Arya Ji, and Sudhir Ji. I feel fortunate that I got this opportunity. All the actors on this show are extremely humble and down to earth and everyone has become a family very quickly.
