IOCL UPSO-II runs 15 days cleanliness campaign to bolster Swachh Bharat mission
IOCL UPSO-II celebrates Swachhta Pakhwada to sensitise people about cleanliness
Noida, July 6, 2023: Uttar Pradesh State Office (Noida Division) UPSO-II of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) observes Swachhta Pakhwada (15 days long cleanliness campaign) from 1st July to 15th July 2023 in line with the Government of India’s objective of spreading awareness about Swachhta (cleanliness) and its importance in a healthy and progressive society.
Sailesh Kumar (Asstt. Director, MoPNG) and Bohra (Executive Director & State Head of UPSO-II Noida, Indian Oil), inaugurated “Swachhta Pakhwada” by administering pledge in a special event for raising awareness of cleanliness among people in presence of officials of UPSO-II and other stakeholders.
Bohra along with Kumar started the fortnight drive from COCO-2, Greater Noida (West) by flagging off “Swachhta Rath” equipped with public address systems and a team who shall perform ‘NUKAD NATAK’ on Swachhta will travel in every nook and corner of Noida and Ghaziabad to spread the message of cleanliness amongst the people. It will also help educate people to stop the single use of plastic, and the unhealthy practice of open defecation, and to keep the surrounding neat and clean.
On this occasion, Bohra exhorted all to participate enthusiastically and contribute wholeheartedly to the National Mission of creating “Swachh Bharat”. While addressing the attendees, he said, “Cleanliness is the right as well as the duty of every civilized citizen. It is one such common yet crucial aspect of human life that governs a variety of things. From individual health to the well-being of society, almost every developmental activity is associated with cleanliness. And, to help India shine on all socio-economic fronts, we must contribute to the Swachh Bharat mission in our best capacity.”
Since cleanliness is synonymous with environmental protection and harmony between them paves a swift path for sustainable goals, Bohra and Kumar planted saplings with the aim to create awareness about the importance of green surroundings and a clean environment. They inspired the entire IOCL UPSO-II staff to replicate their actions during and after the Swachhta Pakhwada.
