IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd donates 30 oxygen concentrators to district red cross society

Ludhiana: In order to assist the administration in the war against Covid-19 pandemic, city based IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd handed over 30 oxygen concentrators to the district administration through the District Red Cross Society. All these 30 oxygen concentrators are of 10 litre capacity with dual outlet.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma thanked Varinder Gupta, Managing Director, IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd for donating 30 oxygen concentrators to the District Administration in this hour of crisis.
He said that these oxygen concentrators are of immense help for the patients in home isolation by providing life-saving gas to them. He said that these medical devices would help to reduce burden on the oxygen cylinders as the equipment concentrates oxygen from ambient air by capturing and filtering the air.
With Ludhiana witnesses an unabated surge in the Covid cases and demand for oxygen has peaked, the Red Cross Society has also started an oxygen concentrator bank for the patients requiring the support of life-saving gas in home isolation.
Balbir Aeri, Secretary, District Red Cross Society Ludhiana informed that home isolated Covid patient can take the oxygen concentrator from their bank on mandatory doctor's prescription and guarantee of device's functioning under his supervision. He said that the oxygen concentrator applicant has to pay a minimal daily rent of Rs 200 to the administration and submit refundable security of Rs 25000 (either draft or cheque) to the Red Cross Society.
He added that concentrator seeker has to submit an online google form on www.Ludhiana.nic.in and the applicant would be informed on the phone once the application is accepted within 12-hours. The applicant can procure the concentrator from Red Cross society from 9 am to 5 pm, he said and added that the decision has been taken on the recommendation of the seven-member committee of doctors.
