New Delhi, December 16, 2021: The National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building or ‘Mission Karmayogi’ is a national program to bring reforms in Indian bureaucracy. The Indian government’s vision is to radically improve government’s human resource management and augment capacity of 25 million civil servants. ISB now joins this initiative as a knowledge partner.
The Indian School of Business (ISB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Capacity Building Commission, Government of India, to provide its knowledge partnership for framing capacity building plans for departments under various ministries of the Indian government. Professor Madan Pillutla, Dean of Indian School of Business and Shri Hemang Jani, Secretary, Capacity Building Commission, signed the agreement on behalf of the respective organisations.
As part of this agreement, ISB would create learning resources, teaching material and work on creating a bank of commissioned research and case studies of the Indian public sector. The school would also provide training to the faculty of the various central training institutes under the Department of Personnel and Training.
As training and content partner, ISB would provide its world class management training to public sector leaders, identify skill needs and bridge those gaps with targeted training interventions. The School is also tasked to assess the participants of these training programs with a data-driven approach.
The Capacity Building Commission would provide general direction to ISB under this partnership and facilitate partnerships with stakeholders in the government.
Commenting on this partnership, Dean Madan Pillutla said, “It is a privilege to be able to contribute to Mission Karmayogi and bring our faculty’s research-led insights to augment CBC’s ambitious plans.”
Dr R Balasubramaniam, Member-HR, Capacity Building Commission said, “Capacity Building Commission aims to further the national goal of citizen centricity and inclusive growth by transforming the landscape of civil services in India. CBC strives to inculcate a culture of learning and building competencies to make the civil service a catalyst for growth. We are confident that the partnership with Indian School of Business will usher in new insights to achieve the grand vision of Mission Karmayogi.”
