Isolation centre set up at meritorious school starts functioning as 500-bedded hospital now

Ludhiana: In a good news and due to the hard work of health department and district administration officials, the isolation centre set up at Meritorious School, here, has now started functioning as a 500-bedded hospital. The place where this isolation centre has been set up was the three-blocks of girls hostel of the Meritorious School and all facilities have been added to it later.
Mr Sanyam Aggarwal, Additional Commissioner MC-cum-Nodal Officer, COVID 19, Ludhiana, informed that all the facilities have been added to this isolation centre from scratch as earlier, this facility only had beds. He informed that now, this centre also has an operational laboratory, where the samples of all persons staying in it can be taken.
He informed that now, all the 500 beds are properly numbered, it has an operational pharmacy, patient registration counter, laundry for washing of all kinds of bedding, hygienic mess for food, private security, private company is managing sanitation of this centre, counsellors motivate the persons at regular intervals, besides, the District Administration is also planning to organise yoga sessions for the persons staying here.
He informed that the laboratory is equipped for testing of HB, sugar, urine, besides sampling of COVID 19.
Mr Sanyam Aggarwal further stated that 11 persons have been shifted to their respective villages for home quarantine today. The persons shifted for home quarantine include two each from village Mukandpur (near Dehlon) and Pohir, four from village Lalton Kalan, while one each from Haibowal Kalan and village Mazara Khurd, Giaspura and near Neela Jhanda Gurudwara area of the city. He said that now, only 80 persons are left at this particular Isolation centre and if their reports come negative, they would also be shifted either to quarantine centres set up in their respective villages or homes.
He said that the persons who have been shifted to the quarantine centres/homes had tested negative for Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19). He said that samples of these persons were taken and they came out negative and now they are being shifted to their respective homes to complete their 14-day quarantine so that they remain mentally and emotionally strong as they would be close to their family members now.
