ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somanath inaugurates Horizon School of Excellence

Ludhiana,April 9, 2024: In pursuance of its commitment to provide free  quality education to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, founded in 1983 by Late Sat Paul Mittal, unveiled‘Horizon School of Excellence’ in Ludhiana, set up in partnership with Shri Gow Rakshni Sabha. The distinguished presence of Chief Guest, Dr. S. Somanath, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), alongside Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President of Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, highlighted the significance of this historic occasion.

Dr. S. Somanath lauded this unique initiative of the Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust and commended the untiring efforts of the Trust in ensuring equitable access to free of cost quality education. He remarked, “I am deeply honoured to support the school’s mission in providing free and quality education to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, with a special emphasis on empowering the girl child. By offering not only quality education but also school essentials such as uniforms, books, stationery, and midday refreshments, the school has provided every child with the resources and environment to excel and thrive. I am especially appreciative of the school’s state-of-the-art facilities and its focus to promote holistic development of each student in both academic and non-academic spheres. The school has truly set a new standard for inclusive education that empowers children to partake   in the economic growth story of India, cementing our destiny as a rising superpower.”

In his address Rakesh Bharti Mittal said, “We have always been deeply cognisant ofthe pressing need for accessible and quality education in India. It is our firm belief that access to quality education is a critical catalyst in laying the foundation for the promising future of our nation. Towards this effort, we accelerated the establishment of the school infrastructure in a record duration of just one year. It is heartening to witness such an enthusiastic response in our very first academic session, with the school already operating at full capacity. At Horizon School of Excellence, our goal is not only academic brilliance but also fostering values with a deep consciousness for our environment. We want our students to excel, nurturing their creativity, critical thinking, and penchant for innovation. I strongly believe that investing in quality education, especially for the girl child, is the key to empowering the next generation.
