IT Fest ‘Plasma 2020’ held at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Jalandhar: PG Department of Computer Science & IT, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organised IT Fest ‘Plasma 2020’, an inter-College Competition with full enthusiasm and energy. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Naresh Dogra was the chief guest on the occasion. DCP Dogra along with Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President of College Governing Council presided over the event.
The Chief guest was welcomed with a bouquet by President Sardarni Balbir Kaur, Mr Jaspal Singh Waraich, Joint Secretary, Governing Council and Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra highlighted key achievements of the institution in IT education sphere. He said the college had been making strenuous efforts in ensuring relevant and competent education to its students imparting services all over the world. Dr. Manohar Singh, Head Department of Computer Science & IT informed that 455 participants from 17 colleges of the region participated in 20 various events including Idea Snapshots, Debugging, Software showcase, Logo designing, Testing of technical skills, Web portal development, Logic Whirlpool, Net Savvy, IT Extempore, IT in Colors, IT College, Tech GD, IT Quiz, Pixel Plus, IT Cartooning, Ad-Mad Show, Hands on Keyboard, Choreography, Query Maestro and RJying. Chief Guest DCP Dogra lauded the efforts put in by the college for quality education especially technical education according to latest trends. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Dr. Manohar Singh, Head Department Computer Science & IT distributed the prizes to the winners. Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar bagged the overall trophy with 61 points winning seven first, 4 second and 3 third positions. First runner-up trophy was bagged by HMV College, Jalandhar with 46 points winning 5 first, 4 second and 2 third positions.
The occasion was witnessed by the presence of Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Dr. Baldev Singh, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Mandeep Bhatia, Prof. Manpreet Lehal, Prof. Gagandeep Singh, Prof. Ratnakar Maan along with faculty members and students of the department. The stage was managed by Dr. Daljit Kaur and Prof. Karamjit Kaur. Dr. Manohar Singh, Head, Deptt. of CS & IT presented the vote of thanks & congratulated the winners./Feb 28
