Ludhiana, August 6, 2024: The Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) and Social Thinkers Forum (STF) Ludhiana organised an interactive session at Khalsa Senior Secondary School to pay homage to the victims of atomic bombing at Hiroshima today.
Reminding the most dreadful ever happening in the history of mankind. Dr Arun Mitra, National President IDPD said that the use of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed to 210000 persons including nearly 38000 children. About 16000 nuclear weapons present on earth today if sued would lead to end of modern civilisation built through thousands of years of labour even nuclear exchange 100 nuclear weapons between India and Pakistan will lead to death of two billion people around the world. The only way out to save the world from catastrophe is to abolish these weapons.
Others who addressed include M S Bhatia, Convener, STF and Ranjit Singh, President, Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jatha, Ludhiana.
Principal of the school Karamjit Kaur called upon the students to carry home and spread this message of peace.
Prabhlin Kaur and Siya students of commerce section also spoke.
