Dharamsala, August 8, 2017: Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today honoured International Women Cricketer, Sushma Verma who hails from Gaderi village of Himri Panchayat of Shimla district.
Sushma brought laurels to the state by playing in the Indian Team, which achieved runners up position in the recently concluded Women World Cup. CM presented her a cheque of Rs 5 lakh and offered post of DSP in state police department.
Sushma Verma said, “It was my dream to serve in the police and today it got fulfilled. I am thankful to the CM and hoping that this act of HP government would also inspire other sportsperson of the state." She was accompanied by her father Bhopal Verma.
CM lauded her achievements and said that she would be inspiration for other young players too.
Sushma Verma thanked the state Government Youth Congress chief Vikramaditya Singh.
