Ludhiana, September 3, 2012: With a record-breaking number of visitors, one of the top travel exhibitions in the world and India’s Largest Travel and Tourism Mart chain, India Travel Mart (ITM), provided effective and efficient way for destinations to build awareness amongst the local tourism trade and consumers.

The continued success of the event over the last few years reflects the growing demand for travel services in India and the spending power of Indian travellers.

India Travel Mart (ITM) got overwhelming response from Ludhiana and nearby cities like Khanna, Jalandhar, Amritsar and other parts of Punjab and Haryana. Visitors were attracted by large number of international tour packages and hotel packages for Malaysia, Mauritius, Dubai, America, Canada and other countries. There were special holiday packages and other gifts been given out to visitors at the lucky draw. ”We really enjoyed visiting the exhibition and got to know numerous and ideal holiday destinations as we were looking forward to visit some for the summer holidays” the winner of the lucky draw contest said.

Achinto Bose, Marketing Manager, Tourism Malaysiasaid, Malaysia is getting response among the top 5 outbound destinations in India due to Malaysia being cheaper than other expensive destinations. People are more interested for Wedding and Honeymoon packages to Malaysia. Many families have shown their interest in New Year Packages also.

 

Karl R Boga, Asst Manager-Corporation Communication, Mauritius Tourismsaid that the ITM event is most successful in Ludhiana. We hope that next year ITM will come in a bigger way to promote Mauritius as one of the favourite tourist destination for Punjab Market. The experience was very nice; we had a lot of people coming to our stall seeking information and a keen interest to travel to Mauritius.

S S Parkhi, Manager Maharashtra Tourismsaid that the response to Western India from very well known industrial market known as II tier city Ludhiana is excellent. Our expected little but the response is very fruitful. Many Hill Stations and Beach Destinations promoted in large number as per our domestic clientele.

Soman Pathy, Senior Manager, Gujarat Tourism Stall,said: “We are in Ludhiana for promotion of our various tourist destinations that attract families of Punjab. We are also organizing International State Fairs in the forthcoming months. We are happy to have come here and exhibited because we have made so much progress in terms of business contacts and real contracts.”

A representative at Manpreet of Olivea Travel Redefined Stall said: “ITM is a good platform for marketing and awareness for our product. The tourism industry is one of the fastest developing, changing and growing sectors in the world today, and it plays a very important role in strengthening a country’s position in the international arena.

On the ITM response, representative of Paul Merchants Ltd said: “Having successfully been involved in the ITM for the last so many years and we know that it’s a great opportunity to meet key tourism industry professionals and decision makers, as well as to network with potential business partners and customers.”

Representative of MakeMyTrip.com Stall said: “It is good for us to come here at the right time for travel, hotels, aviation and air ticketing promotion and awareness. People are looking best deals and getting special offers online.

Ajay Arora, East Bourne Resorts & East Bourne Holidayssaid ITM is the best place where all the residents of Punjab will get complete information for various domestic and international packages under one roof. We are getting very response for our Himachal Hotel and our travel division is getting good response for another destination. We have received very huge queries for coming season.
