Jalandhar, August 1, 2023: For good ideas and innovation, you need human interaction, debates and solutions. Ivy World School, Jalandhar organized a seminar by Jacob Keeley. Jacob who is a recent graduate of Alma College where he studied History and Political Science with a focus on international relations. With an impressive experience of 8 years at the United Nations, he served for 3 years on Alma College’s internationally recognized MUN team. Jacob is an associate staffer for Metro Detroit Model United Nations and is the head advisor for the Flint Powers MUN Coalition in Michigan.
He took the faculty of Vasal Educational Group, educators from three key schools of Dasua, Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar, through the paces of training students for Mock UN debates on national and international level. An enlightening workshop with facts, ideas and practical work stressing on the strategies that may be inculcated in the student debaters, preparing for future conferences.
Educators were prepped up to nurture, guide and model the thought process of learning to debate a question without settling it is better than settling a question without debating. The essential thought is to be ready to put their point across to leave an impact on the final decision.
The faculty spent the day practicing the skills to be worked on with the students from power dressing to research papers, resources to use and paper writing to help with resolutions.
The President of Vasal Education Society, K K Vasal, The Chairman Sanjeev Kumar Vasal, The Vice President Ena Vasal, The CEO Raghav Vasal and The Director, Aditi Vasal emphasized the importance of working for a goal through effort and preparing students to be impactful. The Sr. Principal of the school, Sanjeev Chauhan added that such efforts help students prepare for leading the world towards success.
