Jalandhar, January 2, 2025: The IWC of Jalandhar held its monthly general meeting on January 1, a day that marked both the New Year and a new beginning. New year cards were given to each member by the project directors.

The meeting began with the lighting of the lamp and a Ganesh Vandana by Anju Sharma. Niru Chawla shared her insights and thoughts on the festivals of New Year, Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Republic Day, and International Inner Wheel Day. President Poonam Jagota discussed the upcoming projects. Rekha Arora recited a beautiful poem in celebration of Lohri.

Jaswant Minhas gave a heartfelt talk about the significance of Republic Day. A lucky draw was taken out. As Inner Wheel Day is on January 10th, the Jagbans Toor enlightened us about the history and formation of Inner Wheel, which has now completed almost 101 years. Plants were presented by Inder Kiran Toor to members whose birthdays and anniversaries fall this month on behalf of the Club.

The senior members of the club cut a cake to celebrate this special occasion. All also had a fun game of Tambola, with a Lohri and Makar Sankranti theme.

Lohri was celebrated with traditional Dhol and dance. Vandana, a young girl, who is in 7th grade played the dhol beautifully, embodying the spirit of women empowerment which captivated everyone with her performance, and all members enjoyed dancing to the rhythmic beats of the Dhol.

The meeting was conducted excellently by Project Directors Niru Chawla and Rekha Arora, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

The meeting hall was beautifully decorated with themes of Lohri, Makar Sankranti, and Republic Day.

Anju Sharma concluded the meeting with a vote of thanks.

Forty members attended the meeting, including senior members Prem Dhir, Aruna Gupta, and Rashi Bhaskar.
