J&K elections show PM’s victory of ballot over bullet: Chugh
Addressed a meeting in Shopian today
Chandigarh: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh said here today that the ongoing elections in J&K have clearly demonstrated that "ballot has won and bullet has been defeated".
Addressing a meeting in Shopian today Chugh said the way people were participating in the voting and the way celebrations were taking place overwhelmingly underlined the victory of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making J&K free from the terror of militants and encouraging people to exercise their franchise.
He said that places like Shopian, Anantnag, Baramulla which were considered the hotbeds of terrorists and where people were scared to come out in the open were celebrating the democratic rights today.
He said in all terrorists' areas today people are taking out tonga rally, scooter rally with national flag in their hands which is a slap on the face of leaders like Mahbboba Mufti who have been giving calls for boycotting the national flag.
"It is a victory of the prime minister that turn-out during the polls has been upto 60 to 70 per cent in many areas", Chugh said. congratulating the prime minister for all his decisions taken in the interest of people of J&K.
He said in this election the BJP was fighting against communal forces and the "tukade-tukade" gang who have been misguiding people of the state and have been trying to instigate anti-national feelings. "All such forces would be decisively defeated in the elections", he added.
