The Grand Finale of Ambuja BIG Panja League being held at CT Institute in Jalandhar on Sunday.

Jalandhar, July 28, 2013: After months of auditions, Ambuja BIG Panja League has finally crowned the Panja Champion of Punjab.

The arm-wrestling competition, organised by 92.7 BIG FM’s Punjab stations alongwith Ambuja Cements, came to a close with a grand ceremony which witnessed some incredible performances and the battle of muscles in the above 70KG and below 70KG categories.

To be telecast on Reliance Broadcast Network’s regional general entertainment channel, Spark Punjabi, the Grand Finale of Ambuja BIG Panja League showcased the strength and willpower of 16 finalists of which Jagdeep Garewal from Ludhiana and Sukhdeep Singh Malhi from Jagraon emerged victorious.

Held at CT Institute in Jalandhar, the Grand Finale of Ambuja BIG Panja League was attended by Chief Guest –Sunil Jyoti, Mayor of Jalandhar and featured performances by Lakhwinder Wadali, Rizmj, Rana Ranbir and Rai Jujar. The star-studded Grand Finale of Ambuja BIG Panja League will be aired on Spark Punjabi on 4th August at 5.30pm.

Auditions for Ambuja BIG Panja League commenced in April this year and were held across 57 towns in the Malwa and Doaba regions of Punjab with over 7000 contestants coming in to try their luck to be the Panja champion of the state. After fighting the battle of muscles and strength, Jagdeep Garewal from Ludhiana was declared the ‘Panja Champion’ of Punjab in the Above 70KG category and Sukhdeep Singh Malhi from Jagraon was declared the ‘Panja Champion’ of Punjab in the Below 70KG category. Both winners walked away with a cash prize of Rs.51,000. The performances added to the glamour quotient of the evening as audiences partook in multiple entertainment avenues.

Jagdeep Garewal, Winner of the Above 70KG category said, “When I first auditioned, I never thought that I would get this far, and now that I have won, the feeling is great. I would like to thank 92.7 BIG FM and Ambuja Cements for creating such a unique show that has brought us and the Punjabi strength to the limelight.”

Sukhdeep Singh Malhi, Winner of the Below 70KG category said, “I am so excited to be called the Panja Champion of Punjab in the Below 70KG category. I would like to thank everyone for supporting me and especially 92.7 BIG FM and Ambuja Cements for coming up with the show. I never thought I could win!”
