Jalandhar Youth Group successfully climbs 14,248 feet at Minkiani Pass Trek 

Three women of the group crossed the track even in minus temperature which is considered impossible for women. Minkiani Pass trek is one of the least explored arduous treks in Himachal Pradesh.
 
Jalandhar: A group of 09 young boys and girls from Jalandhar city have conquered Minkiani Pass Trek Himachal Pradesh. A total of 09 members were included in the group, out of which 03 were females and 06 were males. Minkiani Pass Trek is one of the least explored tough uphill treks in Himachal Pradesh, which is considered difficult due to the steepness of the climb. This trek is 7 km from the nearby Keri Lake. It is situated at a distance of 10 kms and is part of the Dhauladhar mountain range, which attracts adventurers with its beauty. The altitude (climb) of Minkiani Pass Trek is about 14000 feet above sea level. The total ascent measured by the trekkers has been 14,248 feet. 

Romi Bagga, the group leader of the trekkers shared that they took it as a mission to cross this track. He is a fitness trainer in the city and runs his own fitness center called V.R.V Fitness. Romi Bagga started its training a few months ago and in June 2023 the team started climbing to cross the adventure trek. He said that a total of 9000 feet was climbed in the trek and a total distance of 38 km was covered, which measured approximately 14,248 feet. It took about 3 days and 2 nights to complete this campaign. Team V.R.V has conquered many treks over the years including Indrahar Pass, Rupin Pass, Everest Base Camp etc. This team consisted of 3 women Naina, Aakriti Tohani, Jassi. 06 male members included Romi Bagga, Ravi Waraich, Happy, Ashish Vasudev, Aditya Sharma, Akash Vasudev, Jaswinder Pahwa, Sunil Bhatia, Harish Agarwal. 

Romi Bagga shared that the  Minkiani Pass Trek is considered impossible for women to conquer, as the night temperature here goes down to minus 04 degrees Celsius. He is proud that the women of the group have achieved this feat too. After a total climb of 12 km, the team reached Lake Keri in the first stage. A total of 3600 feet of climbing was done in this 12 km and it took almost 6 hours to complete the journey on the first day. The second day was the most difficult of the journey, in which the team took 12 hours to climb 5000 feet in a distance of 7 km. The team also crossed a 1 km long glacier with the help of technical climbing equipment. He said that it is very important to be physically and mentally strong to conquer the  Minkiani Pass Trek. He said that the purpose of this mission is to make the young generation aware of fitness, motivate them and give the message of always moving forward.
