Jammu, November 8, 2012: Director Horticulture, Jammu, J N Sharma flagged off a group of 20 farmers on 3-day exposure visit under Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States (HMNH) to Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) Ludhiana .
The group of the farmers from different blocks of Jammu district will visit Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana and other prominent places of Horticulture and Agriculture importance in Punjab wherein they will interact with the renowned scientists and progressive orchardists. The will also attend the Horticulture conference being held at PAU, Ludhiana on November 9.
While addressing the farmer Director Horticulture emphasized the importance of such exposure visits and urged them to take maximum benefit from it. He advised them to interact with the renowned scientists and experts of the premier institutes and progressive orchardists from other states participating in the Horticulture Conference and learn the latest techniques developed and adopted by these institutes for the development of horticulture and apply the same in their fields on return from the tour.
Chief Horticulture Jammu, J L Raina, DL-SMS, Jammu, Y K Kesar, HIPO Jammu, K K Ambardar, DHO Jammu, S Kirtan Singh besides other officers were present on the occasion. Horticulture Development Officer Dansal is accompanying the farmers in the exposure visit.
