JAT Maha Sabha remembers Dara Singh on first death anniversary

Chandigarh, July 12, 2013: Glowing tributes were paid to veteran actor and former president of the All India Jat Maha Sabha Dara Singh on his first death anniversary today.

A function was organised by the Sabha in New Delhi to pay tributes to him.

In his message, the president of the Sabha and former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh recalled his untiring services against various social evils and for his contribution to the cause of the Sabha.

Capt Amarinder said, late Dara Singh’s contribution will always be remembered by the future generations.

Speaking on the occasion the general secretary of the Maha Sabha Yudhvir Singh recalled that it was under late Dara Singh’s leadership that the Sabha launched a campaign on December 23, 1998 at for the reservation of the Jats and got it in six states. Besides, he led an untiring campaign for the reformation and uplift of the community.

The national vice president of the Sabha Harpal Singh Harpura said, late Dara Singh had provided a new direction and guidance to the community and resolved that his mission will be carried forward and taken to the logical conclusion.
