Kolkata, November 20, 2015: Antaryatra, a coffee table book that explores Jayasri Burman's journey from 1996 until 2015, through her vibrant canvases and sculptures, was launched on the 19th of November  in the presence of many luminaries. Produced by Ambica Beri, of Gallery Sanskriti the book was unveiled by Chief Guest--national award winning actress Vidya Balan. Noted industrialist and art connoisseur Harshavardhan Neotia launched the book and spoke in glowing terms about the artist and her work and read select poems penned by Pritish Nandy on Jayasri Burman’s sculptures. The strains of classical flute played by Prabhash Kejriwal started off the evening.

The book does a full journey from the artist’s earlier works right up to the myriad and mythical universes she has created into her drawings, paintings, sculptures contained in an exquisitely produced 300 page tome. It has a  foreword by Amitabh Bachhan, poems by Pritish Nandy, art critic Rajiv Chandran’s expansive exposition of Jayasri Burman’s work and conversations with Ina Puri, columnist and curator.
