JL Kapoor Memorial Trust extends helping hand to underprivileged
In its second round of distribution, Trust has distributed 70 seva kits catering to over 280 beneficiaries
New Delhi: JL Kapoor Memorial Trust, during this time of Coronavirus pandemic, has ken an initiative to give back to the society through the distribution of dry rations packages named “Seva Kit” to the underprivileged, migrants, and daily wagers. In its second round of distribution on 18th May, the trust has distributed 70 Seva Kits catering to over 280 beneficiaries in the Anand Parbat transit camp in New Delhi.
The trust has invited Mr. Chandrabhan, SHO – Anand Parbat Police Station to support the relief camp and distribute the dry food relief kits. The distribution of dry ration kits in the transit camp has been undertaken in the presence of Mr. Sanjay Gaur, DDA In-charge - Transit Camp, Anand Parbat, and the trustees of JL Kapoor Memorial Trust Mr. Amit Kapoor, Mr. Karan Kapoor, and Mr. Kabir Kapoor.
To ensure less people should sleep hungry in this period of lockdown, the trust has started the distribution of Seva Kits in Gurugram region during the first week of lockdown that has been followed by Seva Kits distribution at different locations in Delhi, Kurukshetra, and Mumbai. During the first phase of distribution, the trust has distributed over 1200 Kits to serve more than 4800 beneficiaries during this unprecedented time.
Every Seva Kits are dry ration kits consisting of 5 Kg wheat flour, 2 Kg rice, 2Kg pulses, 1 Kg sugar, 1 Kg salt, 1 litre cooking oil, 100 grams of turmeric powder, 100 grams of coriander powder, and 100 grams of red chilli powder. The Seva Kit has been designed to cater to the dry ration needs to a family of four.
Talking about the initiative, Mr. Amit Kapoor, trustee of JL Kapoor Memorial Trust said, “During this unprecedented time of crisis and national lockdown, it is imperative and a necessity to come forward and help the most affected strata of our society, i.e. the underprivileged, daily wage workers and people stuck in transit camps.”
