Job fairs to be held in District Ludhiana

Ludhiana, September 5, 2019: Under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Mission of the Punjab government, job fairs are to be organised in different parts of the state. In district Ludhiana, these job fairs would be held on September 9, 10 & 11, 2019 at Ludhiana, Jagraon, Khanna and Samrala. A review meeting in this regard was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal at the office of General Manager, District Industries Centre, here today.
While providing information, Agrawal informed that in district Ludhiana, job fairs would be organised at Government ITI, Gill Road, Ludhiana on September 9, at Gulzar Group of Institutes, Khanna, Govt Senior Secondary School, Jagraon and at ITI (Girls), Samrala, on September 10, 2019. Besides this, another such job fair would be organised at Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting Technology, Rishi Nagar, Ludhiana on September 11. Similarly, the Punjab government would be organising a Mega Job Fair at Ajitgarh (Mohali) on September 18, where the selected candidates would get a minimum salary package of Rs 3 lakh.
He said that these job fairs are being organised with an aim to ensure that maximum youth get employment.
Agrawal directed the officials to ensure that maximum number of companies as well as unemployed youth attend these job fairs so that maximum number of people can be benefitted. He said that a list of employers should be prepared and they should be contacted directly. He also informed that for these job fairs, nodal officers would be appointed by District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, and all basic facilities such as medical assistance, toilets, potable drinking water, parking, traffic management, etc would also be provided.
The Deputy Commissioner said that for youth with special needs, special counters would be set up at the job fair sites. He also asked the Labour and Factories department to assist the district administration in ensuring the maximum youth get employment. He said that the students of Government ITI’s, who want to attend these job fairs, would be provided free bus service.
He appealed to the representatives of different industrial associations to provide data regarding their requirements to the district administration. He also said that youth, who get selected during these job fairs, they would ensure that they get their offer letter on the spot. He also appealed to the employers to reject minimum candidates and should give chance to the youth to work for their businesses.
He informed that the main aim of organising these job fairs is that maximum number of unemployed youth of the state get employment. He urged the youth to attend these job fairs in large numbers as several reputable companies would be attending them.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included ADC (Jagraon)-cum-CEO District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises Ludhiana Neeru Katyal Gupta, SDM Payal Swati Tiwana, SDM Ludhiana (East) Amarjit Singh Bains, SDM Ludhiana (West) Amrinder Singh Malhi, SDM Jagraon Baljinder Singh Dhillon, SDM Samrala Geetika Singh, besides several others.
