Kapurthala, January 24, 2013: Punjab Technical University started its first two day Mega Job Fest on Thursday in the campus of Punjab Institute of Technology, Kapurthala.

In this Mega Job Fest, 2700 students of different streams of B.Tech., M.C.A., M.B.A., P. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy, M.Sc. Chemistry participated.  

On the first day of the fest, 20 renowned companies participated in the fest.

While inaugurating the Mega Job Fest, Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajneesh Arora said that after Multinational Companies, National Level Companies are now offering excellent packages for IIT and Management courses.

He said that in the last few years, more than 20 thousand students have been offered jobs through PTU and in 2013, PTU aims at providing jobs to more than 1 lakh students.

He also inspired the students to find jobs in such companies which are started by the educated youth recently in order to help these companies to achieve the status of multinational companies. In this way, there future will also be a secured one.

On this occasion, Dean Academics Dr. Buta Singh gave information about the increasing demand of students of IT and Management Courses in the market.

Director PIT Kapurthala Dr. Nacchatar Singh said that in future, there will be countless available opportunities for the students but only those students will be successful, who will be skilled as per the need of the companies.

The visiting companies included Kochar Infotech Pvt. Ltd., Saiyom Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Exotic Professional Recruitment Services, IFBI, Future Point Edu-Tech Pvt. Ltd., Pingaksho Technologies Inc., Netmax Technologies, Intel gain technologies and Burek Forbes.

The visiting companies adopted three procedures to judge the skills of the students which included written examination, group discussion and interview. Participating colleges included Indo-Global College, Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology, Malout Institute of Management and Technology, Global Institute, DTC Ferozepur and GNAIMT.

On the first day of job fest, Deputy Registrar Ekomkar Singh Johal, Training and Placement Officer Navdeepak Sandhu, Assistant Professor Shabir Sidhu, Dr. Dalbir Kaur, Gazal Sharma, Barinderjit were also present.

Fourteen new companies will be participating on the second day of the job fest.
