Jalandhar/Zirakpur, October 20, 2013: NK Sharma, CPS, Punjab today flagged off the five kms Marathon Run for Fun race organised by Joint Action Coordination Committee, Zirakpur.
Large number of people from in and around Zirakpur participated in it but the enthusiasm among children was worth observing.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that those people who follow the adage `health is wealth’ are the most active and useful citizens of the society. He remarked that sports are the best medium to channelise the energies of the youth in the constructive manner and these also help in keeping them away from the drugs, which presently is the greatest threat to the society. He announced a grant of Rs. 21,000 for the committee for organizing such a mega event. He also gave away prizes to the winners. www.cityairnews.com
