Joint Operation with Punjab Police: Four Associates of Harpreet Happo Gang Arrested in Mcleodganj

Dharamshala, March 28, 2025: In a major breakthrough, the Kangra Police, in coordination with the Punjab Police, has apprehended four associates of the notorious Harpreet Happo Gang from Mcleodganj. These criminals were wanted in connection with a murder case registered at Police Station City Kharar, SAS Nagar, Punjab, on February 1, 2025.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kangra, Shalini Agnihotri, IPS, informed the press that the accused had been on the run after committing the crime. Acting on secret information provided by the Punjab Police, the Kangra Police successfully traced and arrested them in Mcleodganj. A vehicle used in the crime and subsequent escape was also located in Dharamshala.
During the operation, the police recovered two country-made pistols, 10 live rounds, and two magazines from the suspects. Following their arrest, they were handed over to the Anti-Gangster Task Force of Punjab Police, which is now conducting further investigations.
Preliminary findings suggest that the gang members were assigned targeted killings in Punjab by their foreign-based handlers. Authorities are now probing potential local connections in Kangra district.
SSP Agnihotri reiterated the police department’s commitment to curbing illegal arms and preventing heinous crimes. "Our continuous efforts in seizing illegal country-made weapons and maintaining law and order are yielding results. We remain dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the district," she stated.
