Journals play a crucial role in fostering a research culture: Prof. Renu Vig

Chandigarh, September 10, 2024: Prof. Renu Vig, Vice-Chancellor Panjab University Chandigarh launched the Inaugural Issue of the UILS Student Law Review (USLR), the bi-annual student-run Journal of the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh and said that the research Journals play a crucial role in fostering a research culture within academia and simultaneously develop indispensable analytical, critical, and editorial skills. Complementing the editorial team Prof. Vig said that the insightful inputs in this inaugural issue showcase the exemplary research and writing prowess of the budding authors. 
 
Prof. Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS said that the strong writing skills are extremely advantageous in the legal profession and to write well, one is compelled to read voraciously and stay abreast of the fast-paced legal developments. Further, she said that this edition of the USLR has managed to encompass a variety of pertinent legal issues that are bound to assist judges, lawyers, and academics keep up with their legal bearings in these times of tech-driven legal changes. The inaugural issue featured the submissions from students of top law schools across the country, including Gujarat National Law University, National Law University, Odisha and Symbiosis Law School, Pune among others, added Prof. Bedi.
 
Dr. Bharat, Associate Professor, UILS and the Faculty-Coordinator of the Journal complemented the Student Editorial Board comprising of Editor Naaz Bagga, Co-Editors Arjun Sagar and Aanandita Aneja; and Members Nandini Gugnani, Ishita Gupta, Ragini Sehgal, Jasmeen Kaur, Mehak Goyal and Tej Partap Singh Gill.
