Dharamshala, May 19, 2024: During his visit to Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda addressed a public meeting in Rehan, (Kangra District), in support of BJP candidate Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj from the Kangra parliamentary constituency. In his speech, Nadda fiercely targeted the Indi Alliance, accusing them of perpetuating nepotism and corruption.
Nadda asserted that the sole purpose of the Indi Alliance is to strengthen family-based politics and corruption in the country. He claimed that the parties in this alliance have a history of nepotism, often making their own family members Chief Ministers, with many of their leaders currently in jail or on bail.
Highlighting the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, Nadda emphasized that the past decade has seen a shift towards development-focused politics. He stated that Modi has redefined Indian politics, transforming its character and culture. According to Nadda, under Modi's leadership, India's global standing and economy have significantly improved, with the country’s economy now ranking 11th and fifth globally, and projected to reach third place in the future.
Nadda criticized the Indi Alliance for promoting caste, religion, and regionalism, contrasting it with Modi’s inclusive vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" (Together with all, Development for all). He highlighted the rapid development under Modi’s rule, including the swift creation of a COVID-19 vaccine, which was distributed to nearly 100 countries, with 48 receiving it for free.
He also lauded various welfare schemes implemented by the Modi government, such as providing 10 crore gas connections for women, building 12 crore toilets under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and constructing 12 crore houses under the PM Awas Yojana. Nadda mentioned the forthcoming initiative to offer Rs 5 lakh for serious illnesses to elderly citizens above 70 and the Surya Yojana, which aims to provide free electricity and income opportunities. He noted that over 25 crore people have risen above the poverty line under Modi's leadership.
In a pointed attack on Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Nadda accused him of misunderstanding the principles of reservation, suggesting that Congress aims to divert benefits meant for backward communities to the Muslim community, which he argued is unacceptable.
Nadda concluded by appealing to the people of the Kangra parliamentary constituency to vote for Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj, urging them to help elect Modi as Prime Minister for a third term.
State BJP President Dr. Rajiv Bindal and BJP candidate Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj also addressed the public meeting, echoing Nadda’s sentiments and rallying support for the upcoming elections.
Later today JP Nadda also addressed another rally in Chamba district of the state.
