JUDGMENT: Death sentence to Surender Koli in Nithari case

Jalandhar, December 24, 2012: The Special Judge for CBI cases, Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) has today convicted  Surender Koli in a case relating to kidnapping, rape and murder of a minor girl and awarded him death sentence U/s 302 of IPC; life imprisonment U/s 364; ten years Rigorous Imprisonment U/s 376 r/w 511 of IPC and seven years Rigorous Imprisonment U/s 201 of IPC.

CBI had registered a case on 11-01-2007 on the request of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and took up investigation in Crime No. FIR No.1032/06 dated 30.12.06 U/s 364/376/307/201/120-B IPC, of Police Station, Sector-20, Noida (U.P) relating to kidnapping, rape and murder of one Choti Kavita  (assumed name assigned by the Trial Court) by accused Surender Koli, resident of  Sector-31, Noida ( U.P). Investigation of 18 other cases relating to kidnapping/abduction, rape and murder of children/women of Nithari village, Noida (U.P) and surrounding areas, by the said accused, were also transferred to the CBI.

After thorough investigation, a chargesheet was filed by CBI against the accused in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Ghaziabad (U.P.). Upon conclusion of the trial, the  Special Judge for CBI Cases, Ghaziabad, found the accused guilty of kidnapping, rape, murder and destruction of evidence and convicted him.

 In four other cases investigated by CBI, the said accused Surender Koli was tried and sentenced to death in similar offences.
