Jalandhar, March 8, 2013: The Special Judge for CBI cases, Ranchi (Jharkhand) has convicted Balraj Singh, the then Assistant Commandant (Quarter Master/Motor Transport officer), Signal Group Centre, CRPF, Dhurwa, Ranchi U/s 7 & 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act 1988 and sentenced him to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 10,000 in a bribery case.
CBI had registered a case on August 16, 2003, against Balraj Singh, Assistant Commandant(Quarter Master/Motor Transport officer), Signal Group Centre, Central Reserve Police Force, Dhurwa, Ranchi, on the allegations of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000 from the complainant for allotting a plot measuring 10’x12’ in SGC, CRPF Campus for running an egg shop.
A chargesheet was filed in the Designated Court at Ranchi on April 30, 2004.
The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
