Ferozepur, June 25, 2015: Junior swimmers from Ferozepur made their presence felt in the recently concluded 40th Junior Punjab State Swimming and Water Polo Championship at Amritsar and bagged thumping 8 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 11 bronze medals. A warm welcome was given to the winners on their return by Baldev Raj Kamboj, Chairman, Zila Parishad, Amit Kumar, ADC (G), Nilima, ADC (D), Sunil Sharma, DSO, Ashwani Grover, President, Municipal Council and a special party was organized to boost their confidence. Baldev Raj Kamboj, the chairman of zila parishad congratulated the winners and their parents. “It is a matter of pride for all of us that ferozepur, a border area, has produced so many winners in swimming”, said Baldev Raj. He also assured that more facilities shall be provided to the swimmers and all the hitches will be removed at the earliest.
