Jury Meet - Max Design Awards 2017-18

MAX, country’s largest International fashion brand, recently launched MAX Design Awards 2017-18.After receiving tremendous response from across, over the last three years, MAX is geared up for its fourth edition to provide a platform for fashion designing students to unleash their creativity and connect with the world of fashion. The contest which was made open in the first week of December 2017, closed entries in January first week and within a month, it received amazing response with over 1200 entries pan India.

This year, Pre-Final and Final Year students from Fashion Designing institutes of India were asked to submit their designs based on theme ‘Craftivism’. It was amazing to see so many talented students presenting their designs which were judged by an esteemed panel of jury including - Fashion Designers Ms.Rina Dhaka, Mr.Ashish Soni and Mr Rahul Mishra along with Executive Director, Max Fashion Mr. VASANTH KUMAR, Vice President Design, Max Fashion Ms.Kamakshi Kaul and Project Head Mr.Marc Robinson.

Out of all these entries, top 15 finalists were declared at Jury Meet press conference that took place at Taj Palace, Taj Diplomatic Enclave, Delhi on Friday. These entries were shortlisted based on various aspects such as interpretation of the theme, creative details, colour aesthetics, presentation, style and originality. These finalists will be given a certain budget and are required to make outfits based on their designs, in a specific timeframe. They will showcase their collection at the Max Design Awards night to be held in Delhi on 21st February 2018.

The Gratification for top 3 contestants includes internship with renowned designers of the Jury Panel, Cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- each and Photo Shoot with a renowned photographer which will be featured in the leading fashion magazine Grazia India.

Speaking on the occasion Mr.Jiten Mahendra, Vice President, Max Fashion said,“At Max Fashion, our aim is to democratize fashion with various IPR’s which bring Designers, Models, Fashion Influencers, Prosumers & Consumers together to build a strong fashion Eco system. Max Design Awards is a Platform to facilitate the new aspiring fashion designers, to meet the industry Stalwards and get an opportunity to get asneak preview of how fashion industry works. We are thankful to all fashion institutions for their enthusiastic response and look forward to have another successful year of Max Design Awards."

Mr.Marc Robinson, Project Head, Max Design Awards says, “This year we reached out to 60 fashion design colleges across India and the response has been overwhelming. We received over 1200 entries from students and it was a difficult task to shortlist the top 15 talented student’s designers from the other young creative student designers. I am glad that we are able to identify young talented student designers, provide them a platform to showcase their creations and get professional guidance from industry experts. Kudos to Max Fashion for engaging in these student designer awards, and encouraging young students to follow their dreams.”
