Kalia expresses serious concerns over deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab
Kalia along with other party leaders hold press conference in Amritsar today
Amritsar, March 12, 2023: Manoranjan Kalia, Member, National Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with other party leaders held a press conference here today and said it is the primary duty of every government to maintain the law and order of the state and to make it better.
He said during the last one year the law and order situation in Punjab has deteriorated. “The AAP’s one year rule in the state has miserably failed to maintain the law and order situation”, he said, adding, that a new class of law violators called “gangsters” have erupted in in the state. This kind of situation was not even seen during the days of terrorism, he said.
Kalia further said the incidents of violence in the state have raised a fear in the minds of people of Punjab. “Is Punjab reseeding back to the dark days of terrorism”, he asked.
Adding, he said the direct responsibility of weak-kneed police administration squarely lies upon Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann because he is also holding the Home Portfolio.
Kalia urged upon the Punjab CM to check incidents of violence with strict hands.
The party leaders including Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Harinder Singh Sandhu, Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Janardan Sharma were present on the occasion.
