Dharamsala, July 23, 2024: Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj, the newly elected BJP MP from the Kangra-Chamba parliamentary seat, received widespread appreciation for addressing several pressing regional issues on the very first day of the Lok Sabha Budget session on Monday.

Local figures such as RM Sharma, a retired administrative officer from Dharamsala, praised Dr. Bhardwaj's proactive stance. "For the first time, we have an MP from Kangra parliamentary constituency who is thinking in the area's interest from day one," Sharma stated. He noted that Bhardwaj raised several critical issues, including during zero hour and under Rule 377, demonstrating his commitment to his constituency.

Des Raj Chaudhary, a businessman from Palampur, expressed satisfaction with Bhardwaj's immediate attention to the long-neglected Kangra Valley Railway Line issue. "This has been a perennial election issue, often ignored post-elections. Dr. Bhardwaj has proven his dedication by addressing it on his first day in Parliament," Chaudhary remarked.

Krishan Mahajan, a taxi driver from Chamba, highlighted the dangerous road conditions in Chamba district and lauded Bhardwaj for proposing the establishment of a trauma center in Bhathri. "This proves his commitment to the welfare of our area," Mahajan said.

Jivendra Acharya from Jawalmukhi welcomed Bhardwaj's efforts to connect temples with tourism, urging him to push for the Bilaspur to Kangra railway line project.

During zero hour on Monday, Dr. Bhardwaj urged the Union Health Ministry to set up modern super specialty trauma centers in Nurpur and Chamba to address the frequent accidents in the Kangra-Chamba region. He stressed that current victims often have to be taken to Punjab for treatment, resulting in fatalities due to the long distances involved.

Additionally, Bhardwaj advocated for the promotion of tourism in the Kangra-Chamba constituency by developing the Rakkar Heliport for helitaxi services. He called for the conversion of the Kangra Valley Railway to broad gauge, extending a new broad gauge line from Pathankot to Dalhousie-Khajjiar-Chamba.

He also proposed creating a religious corridor to connect famous temples and Shaktipeeths in Kangra and Chamba, constructing ropeways in the Dhauladhar region, and enhancing two-lane road connectivity to Dalhousie-Khajjiar-Chamba. Bhardwaj emphasized the need for public facility development at tourist spots such as Bhagsunag, McLeodganj, Naddi, Church, Dal Lake, Indrunag, and Dharamkot, as well as the enhancement of Chamunda Temple and Jwalamukhi Temple as significant Shaktipeeths.
