Dharamshala, December 11, 2024: Kangra-Chamba MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj has strongly criticized the Himachal Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for celebrating two years in office, accusing it of neglecting public welfare. In a press release, Dr. Bhardwaj alleged the Congress government failed to meet the needs of farmers, women, youth, and individuals with disabilities.
Dr. Bhardwaj questioned whether the celebrations were to mark unfulfilled promises, including the failure to procure milk at ₹100 per liter and cow dung at ₹2 per kg. He highlighted issues such as rising crime, unemployment, inflation, and public debt, noting that each resident now shoulders a loan burden of over ₹1.2 lakh.
He further criticized the closure of welfare schemes like the Shagun scheme for daughters and the Grihini Suvidha Yojana and pointed to a Supreme Court rebuke for neglecting Divyang individuals.
Calling the government’s policies "anti-people," Dr. Bhardwaj urged the Chief Minister to address public grievances instead of celebrating. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, urging the state government to follow his example.
Dr. Bhardwaj concluded by asserting that the people of Himachal Pradesh are dissatisfied and prepared to hold the government accountable for its shortcomings.
