Dharamshala, June 13, 2023: The Kangra Valley Carnival is set to commence in Dharamshala on June 16 and will be held at the Police Ground until June 29. This event aims to entertain attendees with theme-based cultural evenings.

Sudhir Sharma, MLA of Dharamshala, shared the details of the carnival after a meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner's office to discuss the preparations. The cultural evenings will take place from June 16 to June 19. The first evening will be inaugurated by Agriculture Minister Prof. Chandra Kumar, while the Chief Minister of the state, Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, will be the chief guest at the concluding ceremony on June 19.

The first cultural evening, scheduled for June 16, will have a 'Kangdi/Pahari Evening' theme. Local artists from the region, as well as renowned folk artists from the state, will entertain the audience during this event. On June 17, the second cultural evening will revolve around the theme of 'Punjabi Dance and Drama Evening' and feature a performance by Punjabi singer Gurnam Bhullar.

The third cultural evening, taking place on June 18, will be a 'Band Evening' showcasing performances by Hijackers, Ashiana, Himalayan Roots, and the 'Harmony of Pines' band from the Himachal Pradesh Police. The final cultural evening on June 19 will have a 'Fusion and Glamour' theme, featuring a fashion show by students from NIFT Kangra showcasing Himachali wear. The evening will conclude with a performance by the renowned Bollywood fusion band 'Indian Ocean.'
In addition to the cultural evenings, the Kangra Valley Carnival will also include the Millets Festival and Craft Bazaar, which will be held from June 16 to 29. NIFT Kangra will set up a craft market during this period, offering stalls with handicrafts and crafts for visitors to explore.
 
The meeting for the preparations of the carnival was attended by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Jassal, State Vice President of Mahila Congress Shakun Mankotia, Deputy Mayor of Dharamshala Municipal Corporation Sachchand Galotia, Vice President of Panchayat Samiti Dharamshala Vipin Kumar, Municipal Corporation Assistant Commissioner Prithipaul Singh, Assistant Commissioner Subhash Gautam, SDM Dharamshala Dharmesh Ramotra, Sunish Mata, Gaurav Kumar, Nisha Gurung, Shubham Sood, and other committee members.
