`Kanpur Files’ is coming in line with ‘Kashmir Files’ and ‘Kerala Story’

Chandigarh June 30, 2023: GM Foundation's production house Global Middas Capital (GMC) announced the making of a film titled ‘Kanpur Files’. At a press conference held at Chandigarh Press Club here today, producer Sardar Inder Preet Singh said that his film will be based on the real events of the 1984 Sikh genocide. The full name of the film is 'The Kanpur Files - 1984 Sikh Genocide'. The premeditated mass killings, looting and violent incidents against Sikhs in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district during 1984 will be brought to the screen with facts, evidence, witnesses and victims in this docu-drama film.

Inder Preet Singh said that this incident was very unfortunate but it is a matter of regret that even after so many years of the incident, no action was taken against the culprits and neither the victims got justice.

The release date of the film 'Kanpur Files - 1984 Sikh Massacre' is likely to be October 31, 2023. Inder Preet Singh says that his film will provide a strong base to those fighting for democratic rights, civil liberties and human rights, to take up the case in the United Nations for justice for the victims of the 1984 Sikh Genocide.

He said that to punish those involved in Sikh Genocide of 127 people in Kanpur and to provide justice to the victims, the SIT was formed on February 5, 2019, 35 years after the incident, through the efforts of Sardar Kuldip Singh Bhogal, President of the All India Riot Victims Relief Committee, 1984, and Advocate Prasoon Kumar, a Supreme Court lawyer, for identification and prosecution of those involved in the killings.

But those who lost everything in the massacre are still waiting for justice. All India Riot Victims Relief Committee, 1984 President Kuldip Singh Bhogal and Supreme Court lawyer Prasoon Kumar were also present at the press conference, who also spoke on the 1984 massacre of Sikhs in Kanpur.
