Says its shame for Punjab, gross constitutional violation by Kejriwal

Chandigarh, April 12, 2022: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today lambasted Delhi chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for converting Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann into a "rubber stamp" chief minister.

Reacting to reports that Kejriwal had summoned senior IAS officers from Punjab for a meeting with them in Delhi in the absence of the Punjab chief minister, Chugh said it was a grossly unconstitutional act of the Delhi chief minister which has exposed the fact that only Kejriwal would be a supremo in Punjab and Bhagwant Mann would be his "rubber stamp".

Chugh said it was not only an insult to the state government officials but also a disgraceful moment for Punjab itself that it would be run by another chief minister from Delhi.

He said there were already reports that Kejriwal and his henchmen have been dictating terms to the Punjab chief minister and have been deciding about the postings and transfers of police and administrative officers, but now after reportedly calling a meeting of the state chief secretary and other officers in Delhi and discussing the Punjab agenda with them without the knowledge of Bhagwant Mann is matter of shame for the entire Punjab and Punjabis.
