Jalandhar, October 28, 2013: Under this slogan “Watch Hockey- Win Alto Car",  Surjit Hockey Society  handed over the keys of Maruti Alto Car to the lucky Winner Spectator of the 30th Indian Oil Surjit Hockey Tournament-2013, here on Sunday evening.

The Surjit Hockey started this to idea to introduce this lucky draw coupon scheme is to attract and to create more interest amongst the general public to promote our national game of Hockey, especially in the state of Punjab. The spectators are given daily lucky coupons till the final match during the tournament at the entry gate of the stadium while players are issued the lucky coupons on the day of their first match. This Maruti Alto car was sponsored by the Tut Brothers, the leading transporters and farmers of the USA in the sweet memory of their mother Late Pritam Kaur Tut.

Padmashree, Arjuna Awardee and two times Olympian Pargat Singh, M.L.A.  from Jalandhar  Cantt. Assembly Contituency  handed over the keys of Maruti Alto Car to the winner spectator   Dupinder Singh Walia son of Hardip Singh Walia , 355, Gura Nanak Pura (East), Jalandhar, having lucky coupon (No. 11151), in function organised here on Sunday at Press Club.  Dupinder Singh Walia was declared lucky winner of the Maruti Alto Car on the finals held on 19th October, during the prize distribution function of the 30th Indian Oil Surjit Hockey Tournament in the presence of Pawan Kumar Tinu, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab and Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, MLA, Rupnagar and Chief Advisor of Surjit Hockey Society.

Pargat Singh, who is also the Chief Advisor of the Surjit Hockey Society, said that Surjit Hockey Society has done an excellent job to uplift the national game of the country and also to create interest amongst the spectators where lacs of rupees prizes are given to the players.  The prizes like ALTO Car, Motor Cycles, Refrigerators, Washing Machine and LCDs to the spectators are appreciable job of the society. Punjab Government will full support to the Surjit Hockey Society in upliftment of the standard of the game of hockey in Punjab, Pargat Singh added.

In this function, L.R. Nayyar, Working President, Iqbal Singh Sandhu, SDM, Jalandhar-I & Secretary, Lakhwinder Pal Singh Khaira, Surinder Singh Bhapa, Ranbir Singh Tut,  Ram Partap Singh, Narinder Pal Singh, Tarsem Singh Powar, Amarjit Singh Tut, Saukhwinder Singh Lally, Prof. Kirpal Singh, Jaswinder Singh Sangha, Gurwinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh Chohla and Baldev Singh were also present.  www.cityairnews.com
