Jalandhar, September 20, 2012: Former Congress MLA from Bholath Sukhpal Singh Khaiira has said it was extremely saddening and unfortunate that a small innocent boy Jaspreet Singh alias Abhi, aged two years has allegedly been abducted by criminals on the morning of September 18.

In a statement here today, he added the child belongs to his native village Ramgarh in Kapurthala district. “I strongly condemn this dastardly act of criminals possibly druggies of abducting a minor child to the agony of the poor parents of my village”, he remarked.

Adding, he said the glaring incident only indicates the total collapse of law and order in Punjab, there appears to be ‘Jungle-Raaj’ with criminals and drug mafia ruling the roost in state.

He added women and ordinary citizens feel unsafe to venture out of their houses alone particularly after the sun set. “There are gangs of criminals with political blessings in every nook of the state”, he alleged.

He further alleged that the highly politicised police of the state is unable to control the deteriorating law and order due to political interference at all levels. Further, he said, “Although I have spoken to the SSP Kapurthala and DSP Bholath, results in this case are not showing”, he regretted.

He, therefore, requested the Home Minister to personally intervene in the matter and ensure justice to aggrieved family.
