Khalsa College for Women successfully hosts Inter-College Science Competition “Vigyan Mahotsav-2025”

Department of Sciences, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized an Inter-College Competition “Vigyan Mahotsav-2025” in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST) & National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India to celebrate National Science Day on 11th March, based on the theme “Empowering Indian Youth For Global Leadership In Science & Innovation For Viksit Bharat”.

Ludhiana, March 12, 2025: Department of Sciences, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organized an Inter-College Competition “Vigyan Mahotsav-2025” in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST) & National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India to celebrate National Science Day on 11th March, based on the theme “Empowering Indian Youth For Global Leadership In Science & Innovation For Viksit Bharat”. 

As many as 200 students from 15 colleges and universities of Ludhiana and surrounding districts of Punjab have participated enthusiastically in the event showcasing their scientific ideas, innovations, creativity and problem-solving skills. 

The event began with an extension Lecture by an eminent Resource Person Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma from College of Basic Sciences, PAU who enlightened the students with his knowledge and expertise. The event continued with the Inter College competition featuring multiple segments including Magic of Science, Lab of Wonders, Design your Thoughts, The Art of Flora, Nature’s Gallery, Bio-Culinary and Colors of Creativity where students presented their groundbreaking impressions. The judges from different colleges were amazed to see the incredible talent exhibited by the students. 

Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana bagged the overall winner award while Government College for Girls was declared as the first runner up and Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College and Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Model Town were awarded the second runner up of the event. 

Principal Dr. Kamaljit Grewal congratulated all the winning teams and appreciated the efforts of the Coordinators Dr. Monica Mahajan and Dr. Aanchal Arora along with their organising team in putting up the endless efforts to ensure a seamless and a successful event. 

Such competitions encourage young minds to think beyond textbooks and contribute to the real-world advancements.
