Khanna police nabs group of gamblers

Khanna, September 26, 2018: Mr.Dhruv Dahiya, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Khanna has disclosed in a press note that as per the directions of Worthy Sh.Suresh Arora, IPS Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh & Sh.Ranbir Singh Khatra, IPS Deputy Inspector General of Polcie, Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana, started a special campaign against the Drug Trafficking/theft/robbery/Gambling & misdemeanors, during this campaign Khanna Police has achieved a huge success today when under the guidelines of Sh.Jasvir Singh, PPS. SP/I/Khanna, Sh.Jagwinder Singh, PPS. DSP/I/Khanna, Insp. Baljinder Singh I/C/CIA/Khanna, ASI Karamjit Singh received the information about the illegal betting upon the India-Afghanistan Cricket Match at house of Harjit Singh @ Sonu S/o Jasvir Singh R/o Bhagwanpura Road Samrala, whose accomplices Pardeep Kumar Dua @ Deepa R/o Khanna, Joti R/o Fazilka, Ankur R/o Jalandhar, Nikhil R/o Ludhiana are also present in his house with their all electric equipments & collecting the betting money from the people through mobile phones. ASI Karamjit Singh alongwith police party raided at the house of Harjit Singh @ Sonu, arrested the accused Pardeep Kumar Dua @ Deepa R/o Khanna & recovered 1 Mini Exchange, 30 Mobile phones, 24 leads, 2 Mic, 2 Laptop & 1 Printer,1 Wifi Modem, 1 Decoder, 1 LCD Screen & 6 Registers (entry for Match Fixing) on the spot. A case FIR No.231, dated September 26, 2018 U/S 420/120-B IPC 13A/3/67 Gambling Act PS/Samrala has been registered against the above said accused & the remaining accused will be arrested soon.
