Kishan Kapoor raises issue of Vande Bharat Express Train stoppage in Parliament
Dharamshala, December 4, 2019: MP Kishan Kapoor of Kangra Chamba parliamentary constituency has raised the issue of stoppage of the recently launched Vande Bharat Express Train in the Parliament. He demanded that the Vande Bharat Express (22739) running from New Delhi to Mata Vaishno Devi should be halted at Pathankot. The train stops after starting from Delhi at Ambala, Ludhiana and then directly at Jammu. Kapoor said that Pathankot is the gateway to Himachal and Pathankot has a large number of military units. Many people of Himachal are employed in the Army and Himachal Pradesh is a very beautiful tourist destination. Tourists from India and abroad come to Himachal Pradesh. Many Buddhist followers of Himachal Pradesh also visit Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh to have a glimpse of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. And the request for a stoppage this way becomes very important. He said that if a stoppage for this particular train is allowed in Pathankot, it will also benefit tourism and the government's revenue will also increase.
