KMV award certificates to girls receiving free education under Gandhian Studies Centre on occasion of Gandhi Jayanti
The first college in the region to get Gandhian Studies Centre
Since 2008, the Centre has been consistently providing training to more than 4000 women
Jalandhar, October 3, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) is playing its role in fulfilling its commitment for the development of girls. In this connection, 50 girls who have completed their training in cosmetology, fashion designing and basic computer under Gandhian Studies Centre of KMV were honoured with the certificates by Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi.
Addressing on this occasion, Principal averred that since 2008, Gandhian Studies Centre has been providing free vocational training in Basic Computer, Fashion Designing and Cosmetology to economically weaker class women. Mentoring and counselling sessions are also organised for women under the centre from time to time. Moreover, Gandhian Studies Centre also organises training camps in villages for all those women who cannot come to the college and the college also provides free bus service to these women. It is worth mentioning that under this training camp, more than 4000 women has been successfully trained by Gandhian Studies Centre and after receiving training from the centre, women are also successfully running their own parlours, tailoring etc. Along with this, Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Monika Sharma, Director, Gandhian Studies Centre for guiding and mentoring the girls.
