KMV bestows champion of the change awards on internationally recognised alumni
More than 5000 alumni from all over the world participated in alumni meet
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organised online KMV Alumni Meet ‘Pearls 2021’ during the International Women’s Day. The alumni of KMV from India & abroad joined the alumni meet through virtual mode and shared their numerous experiences and stories of success.
Principal Prof. Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the empowered alumni and averred that the aim of organising this online alumni meet was to celebrate the success of highly capable, empowered and confident alumni of KMV who have brought laurels to the institution in diverse fields, and also their stories of success would go a long way in motivating the young students of KMV. Prof Dwivedi further maintained that KMV is very proud of its alumni and all these alumni have made their alma mater proud by their success. It is important to mention that the alumni from the batch of 1955-56 to the present ones were also present on the occasion. All the alumni were feeling very emotional & nostalgic while sharing their college memories.
On this occasion, the most outstanding alumni of KMV namely Ms Gurjot (Senior Executive, Ajit Group of Publications), Ms Penny Sandhu( Founder & CEO Jus Punjabi TV), Ms Navpreet Kaur( Actor, Model, Miss India Femina Top 5 Finalist 2016), Ms Anjali( Co-founder & Director, CodeFire Technologies), Ms Aabha Naagar (Renowned Advocate, High Court) & Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi (Principal KMV) were awarded with Champion of the Change Award by KMV for making a colossal contribution to the society. It is pertinent to mention that this is the initiation of Champion of the Change Award which will be bestowed each year to the outstanding alumni of KMV. A documentary showcasing the glorious and successful journey of KMV was also shown during the celebrations. Glimpses of previous Alumni Meet & fashion shows were also showcased to the participants. A video titled Alumnae Speak was also shown during the celebrations that presented the video messages of alumni of KMV. A dance video showcasing the classical dancing skills of KMV girls & a video highlighting the philanthropic initiatives accomplished by KMV during the COVID-19 pandemic were also shown during the Alumni Meet.
During the culmination of the event, KMV song was also played that depicted the love and affection of all the KMVites towards this glorious institution. Dr Sushma Chawla, Vice President, KMV Managing Committee extended Vote of Thanks to all the participants & said that KMV has always been a guiding light in our lives. Dr Madhumeet, Head, PG Department of English was the moderator for the whole event. Madam Principal lauded the efforts of the whole organising committee for successfully organising the Alumni Meet. Dr Kamal Gupta, Member, KMV Managing Committee & Mrs. Anuradha Sondhi were also present on the occasion.
