KMV book bank distributes free of cost books to students
College takes lead in philanthropic activities
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya distributed free of cost books to the students. KMV has a Book Bank which operates under the aegis of the Department of Student Welfare. As the new semester has commenced the KMV Book Bank has put up an exhibition of books of all subjects in order to facilitate the students.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV's Book Bank is operational throughout the year. Students deposit the syllabus oriented books of their previous classes in the Book Bank and those who want to use the books can collect them from the Book Bank without a need to buy them. The students are provided books free of cost in order to provide a great service to the needy students.
On this ocassion, Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal was also present. During his visit to the Book Bank, Sh. Chander Mohan averred that the students also become aware of their duties as responsible citizens through these types of initiatives as they learn the concept of sharing. As many as 500 students donated their old books and 400 students got books on various subjects like English, History, Chemistry & Mathematics etc. It is worth mentioning here that KMV always take a lead in various philanthropic activities & this Book Bank is one of the such inititative of KMV.
Principal also lauded the efforts of the Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare Department & the Department of Student Welfare for being involved in the flawless functioning of the Book Bank.
