Jalandhar, October 6, 2022: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas with full zeal and enthusiasm by organising a special Cyber Hygiene session.
Dr. Suman Khurana, Head, PG Department of Computer Science and Applications was the resource person for the occasion. While addressing the students, she first gave information about the use of digital technology and cyber space in the present era, while at the same time she also threw light on the increasing cyber crime day by day. Describing as worrying the count of millions of Indians caught in cybercrime every year, she described India as one of the three countries affected by cybercrime across Asia. Elaborating on the topic, she talked about the deception of e-mail, internet & identity etc. & also talked about cyber threats, cyber harassment, cyber stalking, cyber defamation, morphing, pornography, spoofing, phishing & matrimonial deception etc. Apart from giving information about the cyber laws, she also answered the queries of the students in a very simple manner.
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Dr. Suman Khurana to provide detailed information on the subject. She averred that in the present times where more and more work is based on technology, the danger of increasing cybercrime remains constant and It is the fundamental responsibility of all of us to spread awareness in this regard.
