KMV celebrates its grand success for getting 10 years extension in Autonomous status by UGC

Jalandhar, February 25, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) had added one more feather to its golden cap as it has been bestowed with the 10 years of extension to its autonomous status by University Grants Commission, New Delhi which is a rare achievement as the extension is usually for five years but only exceptional institutions are awarded with the extension for 10 years on account of their flawless execution of autonomy. 

In order to celebrate this singular achievement, KMV organized a celebration at the college campus in which Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal graced the occasion as the chief guest. 

Dr Sushma Chopra, Secretary, KMV Managing Committee, Dr Suresh Seth, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Dr Satpal Gupta, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Sushila Bhagat, Member, KMV Managing Committee  and Neeru Kapoor, Member, KMV Managing Committee also graced the occasion. 

Welcoming all the esteemed guests during the occasion, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi  averred that this extension has been awarded to the KMV as it has ushered in a new era of progressive education in the region which is unparalleled as KMV is the only institution that is totally committed towards quality education and holistic development of the students. 

Prof. Dwivedi further maintained that the new age education that is being imparted at KMV is in sync with the New Education Policy as we have continuously upgraded the syllabi of all the courses in accordance with the requirements of 21st century in order to provide international exposure to the students & also the skill based education provided by KMV prepares students to excel in this highly competitive world. She also acquainted everyone that now students at KMV will have an option to study in a 4 year degree program recognized by foreign universities. 

Principal also extended her gratitude towards Chander Mohan for being a constant support and guidance to the college and to always initiating new reforms at KMV. 

Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal was jubilant and congratulated the Principal, faculty and students of this glorious heritage institution and maintained that it is only due to the excellent reforms done by KMV that it has been granted the extension in its autonomous status. He further maintained that Kanya Maha Vidyalaya with a long historical standing of 138 glorious years has been a leader in education since 1886. Not resting on past laurels it has created history by becoming the first and only Autonomous women institution of Punjab .Under Autonomy, KMV has achieved academic freedom with ample opportunities to start new courses, execute and implement academic and examination reforms & the advantages of autonomy- a Student friendly System for Progressive Quality Education are colossal.  

Chander Mohan also lauded the efforts of Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi for being a wonderful leader and making the college reach to the new heights of success. 

Principal congratulated the faculty members and students for this outstanding achievement & appreciate the hard work which is constantly put in by faculty members and students of KMV.
