KMV celebrates National Sports Day 

Jalandhar, August 29, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a week-long celebration to commemorate National Sports Day. The week kicked off with a highly anticipated friendly volleyball match. The game was played with full enthusiasm, showcasing impressive skills and teamwork on both sides. The match brought together the spirit of competition and cooperation, leaving the audience energised and inspired. In a display of strength and endurance, KMV organised a Plank Challenge. Participants were tested on their ability to hold a plank position for the longest time. The challenge not only demonstrated the students’ and staff’s core strength but also emphasised the importance of fitness and perseverance. One of the most entertaining and thrilling events was the Tug of War competition. The Tug of War was a vivid reminder of the power of unity and teamwork, with participants thoroughly enjoying the experience, irrespective of the outcome. As a commitment to a healthier lifestyle, KMV students took part in the Fit India Pledge during the week-long celebration. The pledge ceremony was a powerful moment, with participants vowing to prioritise physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle. 

Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi expressed her delight at the success of the week-long National Sports Day celebration. She averred that Sports are not just about competition; they teach us discipline, resilience, and teamwork. Through events like these, we aim to instil a lifelong commitment to fitness and a spirit of unity among our students. She further maintained that the celebrations were not only an opportunity for the participants to showcase their skills but also served as a reminder of the role sports play in maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle. She lauded the efforts of Dr Davinder, Head, Department of Physical Education for successfully organising the celebrations.
