Jalandhar, January 12, 2018: The N.S.S.unit of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage and Autonomous Institution's, Jalandhar in collaboration with Department of Political Science and Student Welfare Dept. organized a series of activities to mark the celebration of Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary.
The Principal of K.M.V.Prof.Atima Sharma Dwivedi discussed the detail the rich legacy of Swami Vivekanand. She spoke at length about Swamiji's life and contribution to India and to the world. Quoting Vivekananda she averred that the youth should believe in themselves and by doing so they can achieves the goals. She further adumbrated the youth should question unexamined practices and do away with superstitions and dogmas and create a healthy society. This lecture was followed by debate and declamation contest on "Swami Vivekananda As a Youth Icon". Navroz Kaur won the first prize in contest, Liza won second prize and consolation prize were given to Pawan.
A Poster/Slogan writing competition on the life and achievements of Swami Vivekananda was also organized. The first prize in this competition won by Simranjeet and second prize won by Kulwinder Kaur. 100 students participated in these activities. Madam Principal congratulated the students and lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Ashima Sahni, Anandprabha, Ramanpreet and Richa Sharma for the successful organization of the event.
