KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School celebrates World Athletics Day
Students participate in various sports with full zeal and enthusiasm

Jalandhar, May 6, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated World Athletics Day in collaboration with Physical Education Department of KMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School. In order to tell the importance of sports for physical and mental health in human life, sports such as skipping rope, 50 meters race, lemon spoon race, tug of war etc. were organised on the occasion. Students from 10+1 and 10+2 (Arts, Commerce and Science) as well as the teachers of the collegiate school participated enthusiastically and showcased their passion and dedication towards the sports. Apart from this, a rally was also organised on this occasion to create awareness about the significance of sports in the society.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, averred that sports have a special place in human life as it makes a person physically and mentally strong and also helps in developing confidence and positive thinking. She further maintained that people from every age group must take part in various kind of sports. She also expressed her happiness on excellent performance of students in sports competitions and also honoured them for the same. First place in skipping went to Harpreet, second place to Tanu and third place to Rhea. In the 50m race, Sanjana was selected for the first position, Harpreet for the second position and Krishika for the third position. Along with this, Diksha got the first place in the lemon spoon race, while Akansha got the second place and Rani got the third place. The Tug of War competition was also organised for the teachers and the Arts team was the winner.
The responsibility of judgment was done by Hardeep Kaur and Dr. Iqbal Singh.
On this occasion Dr. Madhmeet, Dean, Student Welfare Department and Head, PG Department of English and Dr. Neeraj Maini, Head, Department of Commerce was also present.
Principal lauded the efforts of Veena Deepak, Coordinator and Anand Prabha, Incharge and faculty of KMV collegiate school for their efforts.
