KMV Contribute to Unnat Bharat Abhiyan with Exemplary Commitment & Sincerity
Receives Grant from Ministry of Human Resource Development Jalandhar, January 9, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya The Heritage and autonomous institution has been contributing to the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan with exemplary commitment and sincerity. Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal KMV averred that KMV-The premier institution of women education since 1886 has played a pivotal role in social upliftment. The students of this glorious heritage institution wish to serve their motherland with dedication and so they whole heartedly participate in such programs. KMV has adopted schools and villages and the students are relentlessly endeavouring to render meaning services which can result in the improvement of their conditions. Recently Kanya MahaVidyalaya has received funds from HRD ministry under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan program. The funds are mainly meant for assistance for awareness and Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) study. This program will provide an opportunity to the students to involve local village people at every stage of problem identification and solving issues relating to health, cleanliness, waste management, plantation, financial inclusion, women and child development etc. Last year, under this ongoing program NSS unit and Department of Political Science conducted the survey in the five villages adopted by the college; Mubarkpur, Sheikha, Raipur & Rasoolpur, Hazara Randhawa Masanda and Patara. KMV Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated Mrs. Ashima Sahni Co-coordinator UBA, NSS In charges Dr.Sonik, Mrs.Anand Prabha, Dr. Iqbal and Madam Ramanpreet for making this campaign a great success. She applauded students for their enthusiastic participation and motivated them for their maximum participation and upcoming activities under this program. She said that the knowledge of Higher Education Institutions should be translated in to field in the social and economic growth of rural people and higher educational institutions should take a lead like KMV in public contribution besides academic excellence.
